Have you ever wondered where your chocolate comes from?

All the way from the UK, The Guardian has designed an infographic map showing the biggest exporters of chocolate in the world and their chocolate’s destinations. It is global trade analyzed, and you can learn much from it.

Chocolate is seriously big business. 2,650,342 tonnes of cocoa were shipped around the world in 2009/10, according to the latest data from the International Cocoa Organisation.” (The Guardian)

Social Movements: Trayvon Martin Case

Trayvon Martin, a 17-year old high school student from Florida was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain. Zimmerman has yet to be charged. The case has reached international newsfeeds and students everywhere are building the social movement.

Petitions and protests calling for justice, for Martin, have entered social media. Among these the NEWMecca Movement Production, shot by John “JayDex” Ledbetter. It is a video depicting Howard University men standing against racial profiling and the killing of Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

The Conference fund applications have closed!

Mike the Change was a great success, and we raised over $1000!

The Day to End Violence against Women, was fantastic. Lot’s of people came out to the ceremony in the Birge Carnegie Reading Room, and the Vigil was heart-warming in the cold weather!

The food drive also concluded, and we had a lot of great donations, the winner will be announced soon!
